The 24th annual Swing Fling will be held at Sheraton Premiere. Nearly a 1000 dancers from the mid-Atlantic and beyond will completely take over this hotel and all of its giant meeting spaces. The entire building was remodeled in 2012 during the construction of the new metro silver line which stops 1 block away. West Coast Swing & Hustle are the featured dance styles. A full menu of fun social dance contests are offered. There will be social dancing 4 nights in a row. Dozens of social dance workshops are planned. Details will be added to the schedule page as they are confirmed. Saturday night will feature a truly impressive show including professional exhibitions by the superstar staff.

Swing Fling got its start in 1991 under the direction of Barry Durand and Dawn (Blorstad) Garrish. Swing Fling is the DC area's oldest and longest running West Coast Swing dance weekend. It's always been primarily a West Coast Swing weekend but over the years has also featured Shag, Hand Dance, Lindy Hop, Hustle and Salsa. It continues as an original World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) member and was a founding member of the National Association of Swing Dance Events (NASDE). The entire operation is now under direction of Dave Moldover's Dance Jam Productions. The schedule and format will be similar to that of the wildly popular MADjam weekend also produced by this team. We are currently in the process of collecting archival photos and video from Swing Fling's early years to preserve some of its legacy.
